Man Refuses To Get Down From Highway Concrete Barrier: Police

The Florida man refused to get down from the barrier in the middle of the Garden State Parkway in Cranford, police report.

CRANFORD, NJ — A man was arrested for walking on top of the concrete barrier in the middle of the Garden State Parkway in Cranford.

On May 13 at 11:04 p.m., police found a man walking on top of the jersey barrier which separates the northbound and southbound lanes of the Garden State Parkway.

Patrolman Shayne Temple located the man, Diamonte Robinson, 22, of Miami Gardens, Florida, and offered to help him safely get out of the Parkway’s fast lane.

Robinson refused any help and disregarded the officer’s attempts to remove him from the travel lanes of the parkway, police reported.

Temple placed Robinson under arrest for creating a hazardous condition and he resisted.

Further investigation found that Robinson was a wanted person out of Miami-Dade, Florida. He was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, processed and remanded to the Union County Jail pending extradition.
