Man Urinated On Police Property, Arrested With Loaded Gun While Driving In Cranford: Officials

CRANFORD, NJ — A man from Newark was arrested in the Township on Monday with a loaded semi-automatic handgun and drugs, Cranford Police said.

Victor Lopez, 37, is charged with possession of a firearm, possession of large capacity magazines, possession of narcotics, lewdness, and criminal mischief.

At around 11 p.m. on Monday, police stopped Lopez while he was driving a 2014 BMW for a broken taillight on North Avenue.

Officers found a loaded Taurus 9mm handgun, hollow-nosed bullets, and heroin. He was taken into custody without conflict.

After he was arrested, Lopez was "combative towards officers, exposed himself, and urinated on police property," according to authorities.

He was then taken to the Union County Jail to await a detention hearing.
