Meeker Sharkey & Hurley and Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney Team Up to Demystify Medicaid Risk for Providers
Meeker Sharkey & Hurley and Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney will host a FREE webinar for Medicaid providers on Nov. 9 at 1 p.m.

CRANFORD, N.J., November 8, 2016 – Providers concerned about the Medicaid program will have an opportunity to learn how to navigate the risks during a free webinar on November 9, offered by Meeker Sharkey & Hurley and Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney. Led by Ivan J. Punchatz, the head of Buchanan’s New Jersey health care group and former Deputy Attorney General for New Jersey, the webinar “Medicaid and the Risk to Providers” will address the penalties, audits, criminal investigations and other exposures faced by providers.
“Medicaid participation exposes providers to government rules and regulations,” said Tom Sharkey, president, Meeker Sharkey & Hurley. “Our free webinar will demystify Medicaid for our providers and will detail ways they can proactively seek to limit their exposure.”

Punchatz has practiced health care law for more than 30 years, representing hospitals, long-term care facilities, managed care organizations and state health care trade associations. He has also argued successfully before the New Jersey Supreme Court in cases involving Medicaid fraud and abuse penalties, rule-making procedures and health benefits based on disability.
The webinar will be moderated by Rich Skorupski, CIC, CRM, CPCU, senior vice president, Meeker, Sharkey & Hurley. For 30 years, he has provided services and designed programs of insurance for nonprofit agencies, with clients ranging from Arc’s, Cerebral Palsy, autistic, and mental health agencies to advocacy, halfway houses and YMCA/YWCA programs. Skorupski currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Supportive Housing Association of N.J.
