NJ565 - Milltown (Middlesex County)

On the Fourth of July, towns large and small celebrate our nation's independence.  Milltown is no exception.

Every July 4th Milltown hosts one of the biggest parades in the state.  Like most parades, Milltown's celebration includes the usual mix of marching bands, youth groups and community organizations, but what sets Milltown's apart is the large number of fire departments and EMS units who participate.

It seems as if the majority of the parade is emergency vehicles from throughout Middlesex County.  Volunteer and paid departments are represented and not only do they slowly wend their way along the parade route, but they make a lot of noise while doing so!  Just when you think you've seen and heard the last of the vehicles, another one comes along ringing its bells and revving its siren.
