Meet Paddington! He has been chosen as Cranford Patch's Pet Of The Week. Nominate your pet!

CRANFORD, NJ — Meet Paddington! He has been chosen as Cranford Patch's Pet Of The Week.

"This is our adorable curmudgeon Paddington, who we adopted four months ago from Animal Haven in New York City. He came from terrible circumstances, is about 14-ish, deaf, almost blind, has severe arthritis, liver disease, is touch-averse, snappish, only barely house trained after four months of trying, and doesn't know how to drink water.

He sounds challenging, right? Well, he is, ...in the best possible way! He has taught us great patience, resilience and acceptance. This is a dog with a potent life force, and we love that he chose us as his people. He makes us laugh every day with his wacky personality, tolerance of being dressed up and very determined ways.

Paddy loves peanut butter, butt scratches, going for walks along Centennial Avenue and Lincoln Park East, long naps in the grass, patrolling our back yard like a boss, has a fabulous under-bite and wanders the house for hours at a time. He is living out the rest of his days in safety and total comfort on his own terms, with as much love as he lets us shower upon him.

He is on Instagram and is the mascot of our Little Free Library opened on Centennial Avenue in early Summer."
