Passenger Popped For Heroin Possession: Cranford Police

Dennis Gholston was riding on Jackson Avenue when the car he was in was stopped, police said.

CRANFORD, NJ - A 51-year-old Cranford man was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after a motor vehicle stop on July 17, according to the Cranford Police Department.

According to authorities, Patrolman Jason D’Agostino stopped a 2009 Chevrolet on Centennial Avenue and Jackson Drive for a view obstruction. Following an investigation on scene, D’Agostino arrested a passenger, Dennis Gholston, for possession of suspected heroin found inside the vehicle, police said.

He was processed and provided with a Superior Court appearance date. In addition, the driver was issued a motor vehicle summons for a view obstruction, police said.
