Pedestrian Hit By Drunk Driver In Cranford: Police

The driver from Califon was arrested for Assault by Automobile and Driving While Intoxicated​: police

CRANFORD, NJ — A drunk driver, who hit a pedestrian in Cranford, has been arrested, according to police.

The pedestrian was crossing the street at the intersection of E. South Avenue and Walnut Avenue on Nov. 8 at 1:24 p.m.

An investigation at the scene led by Det. Steven D’Ambola determined that the driver of a 2016 Ford, Ronald Torsky, 61, of Califon was driving while intoxicated, according to Cranford Police.

Torsky was arrested for Assault by Automobile; Driving While Intoxicated, processed, and released to a friend pending a Superior Court Appearance.

In addition to being charged with assault by automobile, Torsky was issued motor vehicle summonses for driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, and failure to yield to a pedestrian.

The pedestrian was treated for minor injuries by Cranford EMS, and released from the scene.
