Press Release: The Great Pumpkin Carveout Returns To Hanson Park

Creative, carved pumpkins will be on display at the park on Oct. 29.

Jersey Central Art Studios along with the Friends of the Library, Track Three Video and Hanson House Conservancy will host its second pumpkin carving contest at Hanson Park on Oct. 29. Registered, pre-carved pumpkins will be lighted and displayed along the paths of Hanson Park during the evening for
all to see and enjoy.

The contest is free and open to all who would like to submit their works of art. Each lighted pumpkin will have its own pedestal, illuminating a haunted pathway through Hanson Park. The evening will start with an outdoor showing of the Bride of Frankenstein, continuing the creepy classic monster movie theme from last year.

Entrants must supply their own carved pumpkin. Carved pumpkins will be accepted between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at Hanson Park, 38 Springfield Ave. with judging to commence soon after. Ribbons will be awarded in four age categories, 3-8, 9-12, 14-17 and 18 to adult. There will also be three classes: funniest, scariest and most creative. Registration forms are available online at: www.jcas.org or hansonparkconservancy.com. For information call 908-272-3743.
