Shoplifter Caught In Cranford: Police

Sergio Gomez was arrested on South Avenue East, police said.

CRANFORD, NJ - A 45-year-old Iselin man was arrested and charged with shoplifiting by the Cranford Police Department, according to authorities.

According to police, on April 20 officers responded to a business along the 200 block of South Avenue East for a reported shoplifting.

Following an investigation on scene, Patrolman Ryan McSharry arrested the suspect, Sergio Gomez, for shoplifting items from the store, police said. He was processed and provided with a Municipal Court appearance date. He was released on his own recognizance.
