Cranford Township has returned to its previous policy of limiting access to the Municipal Building and Township offices because of the increasing number of COVID positive cases. All offices will be staffed during regular business hours of 8 am to 4:30 pm to provide service but the building is closed to the public effective immediately.

Residents are asked to call or email the office or person you wish to speak with for service. If an in-person meeting is necessary, the staff will set up an appointment for you to come into the building.

Last year, the Township installed secure Lock Boxes to drop off applications and documents for the Building, Zoning and Tax/Finance Offices. These are located at the rear entrance of the Municipal Building. A secure Lock Box for the Health Department is located at their entrance near the Police and Court entrance.

“It is unfortunate that we have to resume this policy but the health and safety of the public, including our employees, is a priority. The building will be closed to the public through January and we will continue to monitor the situation and make changes accordingly. We appreciate your cooperation during these trying times.”, said Mayor Kathleen Miller Prunty.

Testing at the Union County COVID-19 site at Kean University has been expanded to include Wednesday, Dec. 29. For more information about the free testing and vaccines www.ucnj.org.
