New Jersey American Water is scheduled to resume routine water treatment process at its Raritan-Millstone and Canal Road Surface Water Treatment Plants from free chlorine to chloramines (a combination of ammonia and chlorine). During the transition to chloramine some customers may notice a slight change in taste and odor in their water. NJ American Water will continue to monitor the water quality to ensure the service they deliver meets or is better than federal and state drinking water standards.
