Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Arrest In Cranford

Jonathan Rodriguez was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

CRANFORD, NJ - A 38-year-old Woodland Park man was arrested and charged with drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop on Jan. 3, Cranford Police said.

According to authorities, Patrolman Gregory Federici stopped a 2005 Ford on Raritan Road near Centennial Avenue for failing to signal a lane change. Following an investigation at the scene, Federici arrested the driver, Jonathan Rodriguez, for suspected marijuana found inside the vehicle, police said. He was processed and provided with a Municipal Court appearance date.

In addition, Rodriguez was issued motor vehicle summonses for failing to signal a turn, being a suspended driver and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, police said.
