Trinity Episcopal Church Celebrates its 150th Anniversary
Trinity celebrates its 150th with the Pentecost Octave from June 5th to 12th @ 7PM and the Bishop's visit Trinity Sunday June 12th @ 10AM

Trinity Episcopal Church, 119 Forest Ave. Cranford, NJ is celebrating its 150th Anniversary in 2022. Two major events on Trinity’s Anniversary calendar are the Pentecost Octave from June 5th to 12th at 7:00PM and the visit from The Right Reverend William H. Stokes, 12th Bishop of New Jersey, to celebrate the rite of Confirmation on Trinity Sunday June 12th at 10:00AM.
A liturgical octave is an eight-day period specifically set aside for the continuing celebration of a feast or observation of a vigil. “Trinity’s 150th Anniversary presents a wonderful opportunity to observe the Pentecost Octave, which culminates in Trinity’s Feast of Title on Trinity Sunday” said Reverend Andrew Kruger, Trinity’s Rector. “These 8 days will be at the very heart of the 150th year and encourage Trinity to explore the Holy Spirit’s role in our past, present, and future,” Father Andy continued. Trinity will observe the Octave by celebrating evensong at 7pm from Pentecost Sunday, June 5 through Trinity Sunday, June 12. Each night welcomes a guest preacher with a historic or current connection to Trinity. Each service will include the blessing of oil, prayers for personal renewal, and anointing. Anthony Rafaniello, Trinity’s Director of Music and Organist, and several parishioners will offer musical meditations during the anointing each night.
Confirmation is the rite in which candidates express a mature commitment to Christ and receive strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop. Candidates have completed three years of Confirmation classes to prepare. Bishop Stokes will celebrate the rite of Confirmation as part of the 10:00AM Holy Eucharist service on Trinity Sunday, June 12th. “Trinity Sunday, our Feast of Title, is the epicenter of Trinity’s 150th celebrations,” Father Andy said.
