Two Alleged Cranford Car Burglars Busted By Police

Breaking: Two Linden men were arrested and charged in connection with multiple motor vehicle burglaries in Cranford, police report.

CRANFORD, NJ — Two Linden men were arrested and charged in connection with multiple motor vehicle burglaries that occurred in the Township of Cranford.

Kyle McCall, 21, and Joshua Carter, 21, both of Linden were arrested after they were stopped by Cranford Patrol Officers last week.

On June 6 at 4:09 a.m., a report came in that there were suspicious individuals on bicycles, entering cars in the area of Tulip Street and Spring Garden Street.

Officers Shayne Temple and Michael O’Neil found McCall and Carter on Greaves Place and determined that both were in possession of stolen property from one of the burglaries, police reported.

McCall and Carter were arrested, processed and released on summonses.

Detective Thomas Stiansen conducted a follow-up investigation and linked McCall and Carter to two other motor vehicle burglaries on Hampton Street and Maple Place.

McCall was charged with two counts of burglary, theft, theft of a credit card, receiving stolen property, possession of marijuana under 50g and possession of paraphernalia.

Carter was charged with two counts of burglary, theft, theft of a credit card and receiving stolen property.

Both are set to appear in Union County Superior Court in late June.
