UCC Lady Owls are Region XIX National Champs
With a victory over Lackawanna College, the Union County College Lady Owls to capture the Region XIX Division II national championship.
On Saturday, March 3, 2012, the Union County College women's nasketball team defeated Lackawanna Community College 60-53 to become the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XIX Division II champions.
Bianca Partlow (Roselle), tournament MVP, led the scoring
for the Owls with 16 points, 10 steals, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists.

Brittany Baker (Plainfield) added 15 points and 8 rebounds. Shanique Owens (Hillside) added 10 points and 9 rebounds. Aika Emmanuel (Hillside) finished with 9 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists. Quianna Trawick (Rahway) contributed 8 points and 6 rebounds.
In addition, Coach Rahim Graham, in his second year with the Owls, was voted Region XIX Coach of the Year.

The Owls finished the season at 22-5.
