Unclear Plates Lead To Drug Arrest In Cranford

CRANFORD, NJ - Halloween night was treat for a 20-year-old Newark resident who arrested after a traffic stop, according to the Cranford Police Department.
According to the Cranford Police, Christopher Morris was stopped in his 2001 Honda on the Garden State Parkway by Patrolman Timothy Handy after Handy witnessed Morris operating the vehicle with unclear plates by the 136 exchange.
Following an investigation at the scene, Handy arrested the driver, Morris, for suspected marijuana located inside the vehicle, police said. Morris was charged with distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of over 50g of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. He was processed and provided with a Superior Court appearance date, police said. In addition, he was issued motor vehicle summonses for unclear plates, a seatbelt violation and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, police said.
