The annual Peace Fair takes place on or near the anniversaries of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki which took place on Aug. 6, 1945 and Aug. 9, 1945. The fair is held in commemoration of the innocent victims of all wars.

The mission of the Peace Council, according to it's website, is "to make peace that is local and global, social and environmental. Our focus is the end of war and a commitment to create a better world through education, support and community outreach."
