Warrant, Drug Arrest On Raritan Road: Cranford Police

Gregory Grant was stopped for a busted brake light, police said.

CRANFORD, NJ - A 27-year-old Newark man was arrested and charged with possession of under 50g of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after a motor vehicle stop on June 6, according to the Cranford Police Department.

According to authorities, Patrolman John Rattigan stopped a 2013 Kia on Centennial Avenue and Raritan Road for a brake light out. Following an investigation on scene, Rattigan arrested a passenger, Gregory Grant, for an active warrant for his arrest stemming from an incident in Monmouth County, police said.

In addition, he was also charged with suspected marijuana found in his possession. He was processed and provided with a Municipal Court appearance date, police said. Grant was turned over to the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Department.
