(nj.com subscription) — Residents in Deal were among many across New Jersey who spotted a rare daytime fireball streaking across the sky Saturday afternoon, as a meteor blazed over the state before breaking up above Galloway Township. Witnesses from Deal and other shore and inland towns described a missile-like streak with fiery colors, part of a multi-state event tracked by NASA and the American Meteor Society.
