1-Year-Old Dies after Drowning In Middlesex County: Prosecutor

The child was found in the pool and wasn't breathing, officials said. Investigation is on.

MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ — A 1-year-old toddler died after drowning in the pool in Spotswood, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Phillip Corbisiero of the Spotswood Police Department said.

The toddler's death is currently under investigation, Ciccione said.

On Wednesday, around 11:22 a.m., Spotswood Police Department received a 911 call reporting that a child was found in the pool and wasn’t breathing. On arrival, authorities performed CPR on the 1-year-old and took him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead, Ciccone said.

No other information was released by the Prosecutor's office.
