2 Charged After Walgreens Shoplifting In East Brunswick
Police conducted a high-risk motor vehicle stop in the area to nab the men, authorities said.
EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ – Two men were charged after police responded to a report of shoplifting at the Walgreens on Ryders Lane, officials said.
On Sept. 12 at 11:23 p.m., officers responded to a Walgreen and prior to them arriving, the men left the scene in a blue sedan, police said.
Patrolman Michael Manning located the vehicle, which was reported stolen out of New Brunswick, traveling northbound on Ryders Lane, police said. Several officers responded to the area, conducted a high-risk motor vehicle stop, and took the men into custody.

The driver, Cedric Johnson, 55, from Somerset was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, receiving stolen property, shoplifting, resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving while intoxicated (DWI).
The passenger, Darrin Shefton, 55, of Edison was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Johnson and Shefton were taken to the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center.
