2 Motorcycle Unit Police Officers Injured In East Brunswick Crash: PD
Sgt. John Bird and Sgt. James Angermeier were injured in the crash that took place near Wawa on Milltown Road, officials said.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - Two police officers from the East Brunswick Police Department's Motorcycle Unit were injured in a crash on Wednesday evening, authorities said.
On Wednesday, around 4:27 p.m., Officers responded to Milltown Road at the exit of the Wawa parking lot (426 Ryders Lane) for the report of a crash involving a Honda HR-V and two East Brunswick Police Department Motorcycle Units.
According to preliminary investigation, the two East Brunswick Motorcycle Units were traveling east on Milltown Road, when a Honda HR-V made a left turn from the exit of the Wawa parking lot onto Milltown Road in front of the path of the two motorcycles. The three vehicles collided in the eastbound lane of Milltown Road, officials said.

Sgt. John Bird and Sergeant James Angermeier sustained injuries as a result of the crash. Both were taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital. Sgt. Bird was treated and released, while Sgt. Angermeier remains hospitalized, and is undergoing further treatment, authorities said.
An investigation is being conducted by Lt. Wade Gordon of the East Brunswick Police Department’s Special Operations Section, with assistance from the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.
