3 Charged With Shoplifting At East Brunswick Ulta, Lead Police On Foot Chase
Dressed in black clothing and ski masks, two people led police on a foot chase before being captured.
EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ – Three people from Elizabeth were charged with shoplifting and other offenses on Wednesday, East Brunswick police said. Two suspects led police on a foot chase after they left the Ulta store, authorities said.
On Wednesday, around 1:17 p.m., the East Brunswick Police Department was notified of a shoplifting in progress at Ulta Beauty located at 601 Highway 18. Two men wearing all black with ski masks entered a white SUV in the parking lot and fled the scene, police said.
The SUV was eventually located on Eggers Street, where officers initiated a motor vehicle stop. Two passengers exited the SUV and fled on foot, resulting in a foot pursuit, before they were both taken into custody, police said.

A third suspect fled in the vehicle and was pursued by officers into Loehmann's Shopping Plaza, where the driver exited the moving vehicle and was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit, authorities said.
Jabriel Q. Mccray, 28, from Elizabeth, was charged with shoplifting, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and hindering Apprehension. Mccray was also found to be wanted out of Elizabeth for aggravated assault with a weapon, police said.

Yasim F. Jones, 30, was charged with shoplifting and resisting arrest.
Tyshon L. Spearman, 37, was charged with shoplifting, eluding, obstructing administration of law, and resisting arrest.
All three were taken to Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center.
The incident remains under investigation, which may result in additional charges.
