In Response To Pedestrian Crashes, East Brunswick To Host Safety Seminar

The seminar will be hosted on Feb. 2 at the Senior Center.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ – In response to the recent pedestrian crashes, a pedestrian safety seminar will be held in East Brunswick.

The seminar will be hosted on Feb. 2 at the Senior Center by Keep Middlesex Moving, Mayor Brad Cohen told the community during Monday’s council meeting.

“I think there is a lot to be learned and gained by having public safety come out and update people on safety tips that can help reduce the risk of unfortunate incidents,” Cohen said.

In the past two weeks three crashes took place where elderly pedestrians were struck by a vehicle.

Wesley Klarkowski, a 74-year-old Spotswood resident was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Old Stage Road and Bosko Drive on Jan. 20. More: 74-Year-Old Pedestrian Seriously Injured In East Brunswick Crash: PD

Residents ages 60 and older and encouraged to join the seminar which is designed to help them protect mobility and independence.
