Montvale Couple Found Dead From Carbon Monoxide Poisoning
Two Montvale residents, an 84-year-old man and an 83-year-old woman, were found dead of suspected carbon monoxide poisoning Saturday night, according to reports.
Montvale police and fire personnel discovered the pair unresponsive around 9:30 p.m. while conducting a welfare check at a home on Lexington Lane.
According to preliminary investigation, the carbon monoxide originated from a running vehicle inside the garage.

Girl, Grandmother Killed In House Fire
A five-alarm fire killed a young girl and her grandmother in Essex County on Saturday, authorities say.
Emergency responders received a report about a fire at 212 Park Place in Orange at 8:24 a.m., according to a statement from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Orange Police Department.
Two people died in the fire: Bianca Mereste, 8, and her grandmother, Omilia Mereste, 70, the owner of the home. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Driver, 73, Dies After Crashing Into Home
A 73-year-old Rutherford woman died Saturday after crashing her vehicle into a home, according to media reports.
Police received a call around 3:34 p.m. reporting a vehicle had struck a residence on Delafield Avenue. Officers arrived to find the driver unconscious and performed CPR before emergency medical personnel took her to Hackensack University Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, NJ.com reported.
Police said witness interviews suggested the woman may have suffered a medical episode before the crash. The collision damaged the building's foundation, displacing a family for the evening.
Motorcyclist Killed After Hitting Guardrail on Route 80 Ramp
A 27-year-old Montclair man died Friday after his motorcycle struck a guardrail in Wayne.
Nicholas Coombs was riding from Route 23 south onto the Route 80 east ramp shortly after 1 a.m. when he crashed, was thrown from the motorcycle, police said.

Toddler Rescued From Roof In Millville House Fire
The Millville Fire Department rescued two people, including a toddler, from a dwelling fire on Dorset Avenue early Sunday. Crews were dispatched around 4 a.m. to reports of a dwelling fire with entrapment.
Millville fire officials were first on scene and saved a toddler who was on the roof at the back of the house.
