Another Rabid Bat Found In South Brunswick

This bat was found in the Kendall Park section of town. Earlier this week, an East Brunswick resident was bitten by a rabid bat.

Another rabid bat has been found in South Brunswick.

The bat was found in the area of Beck Court in the Kendall Park section of town.

It was sent to the New Jersey State Health Department for testing, and on Thursday, the South Brunswick Health Department was notified that it tested positive for rabies.

Last week, township officials learned that a bat found near Blackhorse Lane and Henderson Road in the Monmouth Junction section of town had rabies.

And last month, a feral cat found near Deans Lane and Route 1 tested positive for the disease.

In East Brunswick, a resident was bitten by a rabid bat on Sunday.

In that case, residents tried to care for the sick animal after they found it in their backyard near Milltown Road and Route 18, authorities said.
