Stop by and have the tech savvy teens of the East Brunswick Public Library’s “Geek League” help you with that tricky new gadget. Teens in the Geek League are available to help create an email or Facebook account and answer other basic computer questions. They are there to coach adults to be more comfortable with electronic gadgets such as cell phones and ereaders. Just bring your gadget and any manuals and cords it comes with.

What’s It Worth?
Sunday, Nov. 16 at 1:15 p.m.
Come to everyone’s favorite “Antiques Road Show” and learn to tell how much that family heirloom or treasured possession is worth. Have your items appraised by Joe Bodnar from Bodnar’s Auction Sales. Tickets to get two appraisals are $10 and are on sale at the library now. Attendance is free, but for those wanting appraisals for their items, tickets are $10 (no weapons please).
Author Talk: Desperate Love: Author Talk - Richard Reiss
Monday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m.
Richard Reiss will discuss his book, Desperate Love: A Father’s Memoir along with his wife, psychologist, Paula Kaplan-Reiss, Ph.D. As a couple who struggled to become parents, Rick and Paula adopted their infant son who grew up having significant emotional and behavioral issues. Discussion will focus on adoption, mental health issues and how to protect and strengthen marriage and family when a child is in crisis.

Offered by the Middlesex County Office of Workforce Development in partnership with the BRC
Outstanding work readiness skills, excellent customer service skills, accomplished team player. These are all phrases used continuously by employers when asked what they seek in an employee. What do those phrases actually mean and how do you showcase these traits in an interview? This presentation will provide tips, suggestions and steps to help you obtain the job of your dreams.

Join us as we celebrate National Write a Novel in a Month..the month of November (NaNoWriMo). We’ll be writing together, working on different writing prompts, sharing our work, getting feedback from friends and more. You’ll leave this workshop with a bound book of everyone’s work. Girls-Only Book Club!
Sunday, Nov. 16 from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Girls-Only Book Club! For Teen Girls ages 13-19. For November, we are reading AND WATCHING: Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. This club meets once a month. Come help us decide what books we’ll be reading, discussing, and watching this year.

Winter is coming! Arm-knit yourself a scarf! We’ll provide the yarn, you bring the arms. Join us for this new and awesomely cool craft program. We’ll be making something new each month.
Hunger Games Monopoly
Tuesday, Nov. 25 at 7 p.m.
Mockingjay will be in theaters this month. Celebrate and find out if the odds really are in your favor. Teens are challenged in this team-based, life sized board game based on The Hunger Games. You and your fellow tributes will trade, haggle, scheme and plot to be the Ultimate Victors.

Photoshop CS6
Thursday, Nov. 20 at 6 p.m.
Learn Photoshop during three sessions in November. Photoshop I, II, and III will show you how to use the most recent version of the most popular image-editing software on the market. In the first class you’ll learn the basics of working with Photoshop and how to create images. We will cover some basic photo editing techniques, and look at how to work with layers. This class is conducted using Macs and will require you to have basic computer skills including using a mouse and keyboard. This program is free. Final Cut Pro Workshops
Saturday, Nov. 22 from noon to 2 p.m. EBPLay, the Library’s media lab, includes five Mac computer work stations, all with Final Cut Pro, digital editing software, so that patrons of all ages can edit and produce their own movie masterpieces. This workshop is designed to introduce beginners on how to use the software. The workshop is free and limited to 10 people.
Funding for the EBPlay Media Lab was provided by the New Jersey State Library and LibraryLinkNJ, the New Jersey Library Cooperative whose services are funded by the New Jersey State Library, which is responsible for the coordination, promotion, and funding of the New Jersey Library Network.
Computer Training Courses
Courses in November include offerings for beginners to experts. Classes are two hours long and limited to 12 students each.

All Intro and Level 1 Courses are Free. There is a $10 fee for all others. Fees will be added to a cardholder’s account and paid for at the Circulation desk. Non-cardholders will be charged $15 and must pay at the time of registration.
