Bridge Replacement Closes Middlesex County Road For Seven Months

The South Brunswick Police Department is advising residents of a long-term road closure starting next Monday.
Fresh Ponds Road will be closed between Route 130 and Rhode Hall Road for approximately 7 months to replace a bridge. The bridge that is set to be replaced is approximately a quarter mile east of Route 130, police said.
The roadway is a main east - west artery for people traveling from the East Brunswick area to Route 522. The roadway handles approximately 2,500 motorists daily with its heaviest usage during morning and evening rush hours.

Police will be present the first day of the road closure and detours will be clearly marked. Motorists can use alternatives of Route 535 or Route 130 to get around the road closure.
Residences from number 1 to 79 will be accessible from Route 130, and residences from number 81 to 133 will be accessible from Deans Rhode Hall Road. Arrangements have been made for mail, school bus, and garbage pick up.
