At the Council meeting held on Monday, Mayor Brad Cohen encouraged residents to attend the festival and have a look at the township's historic district.
"This is a community-type block party in the historic section of town. It was done two decades ago regularly in that part of town," Cohen said.

Many people today don't even know that's the historic section of town. If you do go past there regularly you'll see we've changed the sign."
The festival is being held in collaboration with the East Brunswick Museum and The EAst Brunswick Historic Society.
Rain date has been set for Nov. 20.
