East Brunswick To Auction New Liquor License For $425K
The township is issuing the license "due an increase in population."
EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — The Township will be auctioning a new liquor license for a bar, hotel or restaurant.
And the amount is a whopping $425,000. During the June meeting, East Brunswick officials introduced a resolution authorizing the sale of the license.
According to the ordinance, the township was issuing the license “due an increase in population the Township.”

The Governing Body will evaluate all applications using certain criteria including intended use, location, land use provisions, impact on ratables and impact on economic development.
A public hearing will be held and upon evaluation of each qualifying application the new license will be issued to the applicant whose proposal would be in "the best interest of the Township.”
