East Brunswick Council Member Dinesh Behal Officially Sworn In
Behal was sworn in during Monday's council meeting. The East Brunswick Democratic Association made a donation to the senior center.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ —Dinesh Behal was officially sworn in as a Council member on Monday. Behal defeated Republican challenger David Herrera in the November election.
Behal’s family was present during his swearing-in ceremony. He thanked the East Brunswick Community for their votes.
“It’s my honor and privilege to be standing here tonight to be able to take this oath to serve all residents of the great town of East Brunswick,” Behal said.

“I would like to assure all the residents of East Brunswick that I’m here to be your voice and to serve our community to the best of my ability.”
Meanwhile, the East Brunswick Democratic Association made a donation to the senior center on behalf of Behal. Ping pong equipment, new billiards equipment and bocce ball set for the new outdoor bocce ball court will be donated.

The race between Behal, and Herrera was tight, with just 590 votes separating the two candidates, according to official results from Middlesex County.
In February, Behal was appointed to the council seat left vacant by Sterley Stanley when he was elected to represent District 18 in the New Jersey General Assembly. Behal’s campaign focused on redeveloping the Route 18 corridor with a mix of retail, restaurants, and affordable housing.
