East Brunswick Expands DUI Patrols

Reminder that extra DUI patrols will be on the roads starting Friday night.

East Brunswick, NJ - East Brunswick police will be running expanded DUI patrols throughout the township from now through the new year, a police spokesman tells Patch. Extra officers were hired for the DUI patrols using a $5,000 ”Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” grant from the state.

“We hire additional officers from the grant funds on particular nights, usually Saturday and Sunday, to patrol the roads and conduct DWI enforcement,” Lt. Kevin Zebro of the East Brunswick police told Patch on Thursday.

There are not checkpoints, he added; the patrols will do roving enforcement throughout the township.
