East Brunswick Is Hosting A School Supplies Drive This Summer

The Township and the East Brunswick Interfaith Clergy Council have launched a school supply drive to help students in need.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — As the 2023-24 school year approaches, many parents and students are looking to find affordable school supplies.

According to the National Retail Federation, back-to-school spending is expected to reach $41.5 billion, up from $36.9 billion last year and the previous high of $37.1 billion in 2021. For families in need, buying school supplies is a big expenditure.

The Township of East Brunswick and the East Brunswick Interfaith Clergy Council have launched a school supply drive this summer, to help students and families in need.

Residents who wish to participate can donate the following items:

  • Looseleaf paper
  • Spiral notebooks
  • 1-inch binders
  • Composition books
  • Crayons - 24 count
  • Colored pencils
  • Pens and pencils
  • Highlighters
  • Glue sticks
  • Washable markers

Residents can also donate gift cards from Target and Walmart in any denomination. It can be placed in the drop box of the Recreation and Parks Office, 334 Dunhams Corner Road.

All school supplies need to be dropped off in the shed at Recreation and Parks by Aug. 12.
