East Brunswick To Join Nationwide Memorial For COVID-19 Victims
The memorial will coincide with a Washington, D.C. ceremony on Jan. 19, a day before President-elect Joe Biden's inauguration.
EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — East Brunswick Mayor Brad Cohen announced that the township will participate in the Nationwide memorial honoring those who lost their lives to COVID-19.
This memorial will coincide with a Washington, D.C. ceremony on Jan. 19, a day before President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration.
The event in East Brunswick will take place at 5.30 p.m. Township buildings will either be illuminated or have the inside lights on for five minutes.

Cohen has also encouraged local businesses and organization to illuminate their buildings. Additionally, places of worship have also been invited to ring bells for five minutes beginning 5. 30 p.m.
The memorial in Washington D.C. will see lights turned on at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, to memorialize lives lost to COVID-19.

Biden’s Inaugural Committee has also invited towns and counties across the nation to join in the memorial, by lighting buildings and ringing bells.
East Brunswick residents can participate by illuminating the inside and outside of their homes, or lighting a candle.
