East Brunswick Official Joins Opioid Settlement Advisory Council
The Advisory Council will decide how a portion of the state's $641 million in settlement funds are distributed in Middlesex County.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — An official from East Brunswick recently joined as an expert on the Middlesex County Opioid Settlement Advisory Council.
Jennifer Stetson is the HR Manager in the Township and has served as East Brunswick Municipal Alliance Coordinator - Drug and Alcohol Prevention for 11 years.
The Council is made up of 13 experts in community outreach, substance abuse disorders and mental health.

Various states brought on lawsuits against opioid manufacturer Janssen and the country’s three largest pharmaceutical opioid distributors - McKesson, Cardinal Health, and AmerisourceBergen. New Jersey is set to receive $641 million from settlements.

"Middlesex County has the 4th highest overdose deaths in New Jersey," Stetson said. "I'm really passionate about closing the gaps in opioid treatment for pregnant women, parents of young children and people in the justice system."
