East Brunswick Police Take Part In 'No Shave November' Fundraiser

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — Members of the East Brunswick Police Department are putting away their razors for the good cause. The Police Department is once again participating in "No Shave November" to raise money for cancer awareness.

Chief Frank LoSacco has authorized a relaxation of the grooming policy, permitting officers to participate by donating and growing facial hair, the police department said.

The "No Shave November" movement encourages individuals, businesses, and organizations to forgo shaving the entire months of November, December, and January in honor of cancer patients, many of whom lose their own hair during treatment.

The police department hopes is to spark a conversation about cancer awareness by not shaving. Department members are allowed to grow a beard, mustache, or goatee until the end of January, the department said.

Each officer who participates donates $10 per month to the cause, with funds going to the American Cancer Society, the Prevent Cancer Foundation, the Fight Colorectal Cancer organization, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
