Five former East Brunswick School District staffers have been named to the district's Wall of Honor.

Five former East Brunswick School District staffers have been named to the district’s Wall of Honor.
“This is the highest honor our district bestows on our employees,’’ according to a news release from the East Brunswick school system.

Murray Chittick, who was named to the Wall of Honor posthumously. Chittick, a World War I veteran, worked for the district for 32 years. He was a teaching principal from 1924 to 1929, and he was the district’s first school superintendent from 1930 until his retirement in 1957.
Barbara Maier, a retired social studies teacher, who worked for the district for 45 years. She began teaching at Churchhill Junior High School in 1968. She eventually moved to Hammarskjold Middle School, and then to the high school.

Gladys Sroczynski, a retired secretary for the curriculum department. She began working at East Brunswick High School in 1984, then became curriculum secretary in 1992, a position she held for 21 years.
Dr. Jo Ann Magistro, a retired superintendent of schools, who began working in the district in 1971 as a guidance counselor. She worked in the district for 34 years.
Dr. Paul Kimmel, a retired science teacher from East Brunswick High School. He began teaching chemistry in 1970 and worked in the district for 42 years.
