East Brunswick Varsity Tennis Player Awarded Scholarship

This girls' tennis standout received a $1,000 college scholarship as part of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association.

East Brunswick, NJ - East Brunswick High School senior Jennifer Chen was given a $1,000 college scholarship from NJ Advance Media as part of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA).

Chen plays on the East Brunswick girls' varsity tennis team. You can read her stats here. She has two Greater Middlesex Conference titles under her belt, and will attend Amherst in the fall.

She is one of 217 high school student-athletes across the state honored for their achievements, receiving a total of $172,000 in college scholarships.

Each NJSIAA member high school (East Brunswick is a member) has the opportunity to select one senior student as their scholar-athlete of the year. Those students then attend the scholar-athlete luncheon where, through a random drawing, they had the chance to win a college scholarship from one of multiple sponsors. Congratulations to Jennifer!
