EBSC's TOPSoccer Program Receives Donation From Jersey Mike's Subs

East Brunswick’s newest restaurant, Jersey Mike’s Subs, has already made an impact in the local community in just a few short months. The Route 18 sub shop opened in June and, as part of the company’s commitment to helping the local community, franchise owners Ron and Chis Rigassio offered to pledge $2 for every coupon redeemed at Jersey
Mike’s Subs from June 30 to July 6.

Due to the overwhelming response to this offer, Jersey Mike’s has presented the East Brunswick Soccer Club’s TOPSoccer Program with an $1,850 donation.

“Jersey Mike’s Subs has a history of giving back to the community,” Rigassio explains. “Our founder Peter Cancro believed in giving back to the local community, and I felt that this would be a great way to give back to such a large soccer town.”

The East Brunswick TOPSoccer program is a community-based buddy soccer program
for children with special needs. The cornerstone of this program is the teenage
volunteers who serve as “buddies” to the special needs players. The work of TOPSoccer’s
volunteer coordinators, Frank Harris and Anthony Mazzachetti, led to this
opportunity with Jersey Mike’s Subs.

Says Frank Harris, TOPSOccer Volunteer Coordinator, “We are very appreciative of the donation we received from Chris Rigassio and the support from the community. Because of Chris and Jersey Mike’s generous contribution, we will be able to continue to do everything we can to provide a great soccer experience for our players and their families.”

Adds Ron Brandsdorfer, Past President of EBSC and TOPSoccer Co-Founder, “The success of our TOPSoccer program and EBSC in general is the result, to a great extent, of the terrific support we always receive from our residents, the business community and township officials.”

TOPSoccer takes place on Saturdaymornings from 9 am to 10:30 on the Level
