Elizabeth Taylor owned one of the foremost jewelry collections in the world. Valued at $30 million, it will be auctioned at Christie's in New York on December 13 and 14, 2011. Peter Stravriandis, a Certified Gemologist, Appraiser and professional speaker will highlight exquisite pieces from the collection. Equally fascinating are the stories behind each piece, many gifts from the greatest loves of her life. For example, Richard Burton bought her the famous 17th century Taj Mahal heart-shaped diamond pendant for her 40th birthday saying, "I would have liked to buy her the Taj Mahal, but it would cost too much to transport."
