UPDATED: FOUR Things to Do This Weekend in East Brunswick
Fall fairs, Halloween frights, great music and a peek into China are on tap for this weekend.

Looking for something great to do this weekend? As usual, there’s no shortage of great ways to celebrate the fall, hear some great music, or scare up a few Halloween frights.

The Haunted Asylum at the is running every Friday and Saturday from 7 to 11 p.m. until Oct. 29. The Haunted Asylum is not for the weak of heart, with chainsaws, coffins, dummies that look like corpses, guts and the usual helping of disturbing mayhem planned. In anticipation of the fright factor, the 4-H has a variety of activities for kids also planned, including mini golf, crafts, games and more. Tickets for the Haunted Asylum are $3. The Middlesex County Fair Grounds is located at 645 Cranbury Road, at the intersection with Fern Road.
Get your pumpkins, bales of hay and mums at every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Oct. 30 during the farm’s . Hayrides will run from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. every hour, and the corn maze is open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Inside the maze, visitors will get to test their farm knowledge while they learn Agricultural Crop Facts of New Jersey.

Come by the this weekend and experience a true international experience. Shen Yun will be promoting it’s upcoming show at the State theater every weekend until Oct. 28, when the show opens. TICKETS WILL BE ON SALE AT THE MALL this Saturday and Sunday during mall hours, as well as next weekend and the following weekend. Shen Yun will bring traditional Chinese singing, dancing and music to the show.
SATURDAY
Support the troops at Sunday. The event cost $20 and includes a buffet. The night is intended to raise money for special gift packs to send to members of the Navy SEAL Group 6. The packs will include a memorial plaque, a special poem, and a tribute DVD titled “Here’s to You,” performed by Robyn Shalit. The Seal team lost 15 members of its group in Afghanistan on Aug. 6 when a helicopter was shot down by a Taliban-fired rocket-propelled grenade. The Saturday evening event features the comedy of Father Guido Sarducci of Saturday Night Live fame, and music by Sportin’ Goods of Spotswood, Bob on Keyboards and DJ Bob.

The piano will make its debut in the during a free concert at 3 p.m. Performing will be Yue Chu, a student at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. A native of China, Chu won his first performance competition when he was 8. At 10, he was among the youngest conductors chosen to lead the youth orchestra and choir in his hometown of Tianjin. After studying in China and Canada, he went on to the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston.
