The business will dedicate a 20-by-38 foot flag on May 21.

Gold Medal Plumbing, Heating, Cooling and Electric on Cotters Lane is going to get a jump-start on Memorial Day.

The company is planning to dedicate a new American Flag on Saturday, May 21. The flat stands 120 feet in the air and is 20 by 38 feet.

The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. at the office and will feature a visit by Mayor David Stahl, and is under the direction of the Gunnery Sgt. James Paige detachment of the U.S. Marine Corps League, assisted by members of Boy Scout troop 223. A stone monument that reads “In Honor And Memory Of All Veterans Who Have Served Our Great Country, We Dedicate This Flag, May 21, 2011,” will be dedicated at the event as well.

Immediately after the event, Gold Medal will host a barbecue for those who attend.

“It’s important in these times of our country battling terrorism on many fronts for us to honor those who have given their lives and are currently away from family fighting and defending our country and the freedoms we enjoy,” said owner Mike Agugliaro in a press release.
