Gun Club Treasurer In Spotswood Charged With Stealing From Group
Michael D. Weber collected the dues and used them for personal reasons, Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — A Spotswood resident was charged with theft after he stole $4,000 from a Plumsted gun club where he was the treasurer, Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said Tuesday.
Michael D. Weber, 64, was charged with theft on Sept. 6, Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said in a joint news release with Plumsted Township Police Chief Earl Meroney.
As the treasurer of the Lakeside Rod and Gun Club in Plumsted Township, Weber was responsible for collecting and depositing the club’s membership dues and paying the club’s expenses, authorities said.

Weber collected about $4,000 in membership dues between July 2017 and January 2021, and used the funds for his own personal benefit, Billhimer said.
Weber was processed and released on a summons pending future court appearances, Billhimer said.
