Help Fix What’s Broken—Volunteer at East Brunswick’s Repair Café!

"Whether you're a seasoned DIY-er or just love helping out, the community could use your help."

The East Brunswick Public Library and the East Brunswick Sustainability Task Force are calling on local fixers, tinkerers, and helpers to volunteer at the community’s second Repair Café, taking place at the library (2 Jean Walling Civic Center Drive) on Sunday, June 8, from 1:00–4:00 pm.

This hands-on event invites residents to bring their broken items for a second chance—whether it’s a wobbly bike, a torn stuffed animal, or a lamp that’s lost its light. Volunteers are needed to help with repairs, offer demonstrations, and provide general event support.

“We’re especially looking for people with skills in clothing and textile repair, soft toy mending, bicycle tune-ups, lamp rewiring and jewelry fixes,” said Melissa Hozik, Adult Programming Librarian at East Brunswick Public Library. “Whether you’re a seasoned DIY-er or just love helping out, the community could use your help.”
