Learn about the Korean Alphabet At Library Program

With the recent popularity of Korean music and dramas, this is the perfect time to learn this incredibly simple writing system.

East Brunswick Public Library and the Korean Spirit & Culture Promotion Project (KSCPP) team up to host the program “Korean Alphabet: Hangul, the Alphabet of Compassion” on Monday, July 25 at the library (2 Jean Walling Civic Center Drive).

The program teaches the Korean alphabet and how to recognize the simple characters it consists of. More importantly, the program explains the creation of Hangul and its creator, King Sejong the Great.

With the recent popularity of Korean music and dramas, this is the perfect time to learn this incredibly scientific yet simple writing system.

Korean Spirit & Culture Promotion Project (KSCPP) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness of Korean history and culture. In appreciation for the United State’s support for Korea during the Korean War and in the years that followed, KSCPP has held over 2,000 presentations about the history and culture of Korea in the U.S. Internationally, they have hosted such presentations over 13,000 times.

KSCPP will also provide program attendees with complimentary books on Korean culture and history. Books are limited, so registration is required for this free program for ages 13 and up. To register, go online to tinyurl.com/2022KoreanAlphabetJuly25.
