Kenneth Amy of Brown Mills thought he was chatting with a 13-year-old when in fact, he was communicating with officers, police said.
EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — A Brown Mills man was arrested while attempting to meet who he thought was a 13-year-old girl, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Frank LoSacco said.
Kenneth Amy, 55 of Brown Mills, was arrested and charged with one count of second-degree luring/enticing child by various means, and one count of second-degree attempted sexual assault.
On Monday evening, Amy arrived at a pre-arranged location after responding to an online listing with a person who he believed to be a 13-year-old girl, Ciccone said. As a result of an investigation by the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit of The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, Amy believed he was chatting with a juvenile when he was, in fact, communicating with law enforcement officers.
