Man ID'd Who Was Crushed at East Brunswick Salvage Yard
The 22-year-old Freehold man was crushed to death in a cardboard compactor last Thursday.

East Brunswick, NJ - Police have released the name of the young man who was crushed to death at a salvage yard in East Brunswick last week. Alvaro Esteban was crushed to death in a cardboard compactor at a salvage yard on Edgeboro Road in East Brunswick Township last Thursday, Dec. 8. Esteban was only 22 years old and was from Freehold, according to East Brunswick Police Lt. Sean Goggins.
He was an employee of Universal Processing, LLC, which does business at the Atlantic Sales & Salvage yard, Joanna Hawkins, a spokeswoman for Occupational Safety and Health Administration, said. The salvage yard is located on Edgeboro Road and the fatal accident happened just before 11:30 am. that day. East Brunswick police, fire and EMS responded that day, but Esteban was pronounced dead at the scene.
OSHA, the federal agency charged with enforcing workplace health and safety, is still investigating.
