Man Killed In Tuesday Morning House Fire In East Brunswick

While the investigation is ongoing, a preliminary investigation suggests that the fire is not suspicious in nature, officials said.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — A Tuesday morning fire ripped through a home in East Brunswick, killing a man, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Frank LoSacco of the East Brunswick Police Department said.

Around 4:50 a.m., authorities responded to a residence on Lear Court in East Brunswick following a report of a structure fire.

On arrival, first responders found the man lying unresponsive inside the residence, Ciccone said. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

His identity is withheld pending notification to his next of kin. No firefighters or police officers were injured.

According to Ciccone, the cause of death remains undetermined pending the completion of an autopsy by the Middlesex County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

While the investigation is ongoing, a preliminary investigation indicates that the fire is not suspicious in nature, Ciccone said.
