Milltown Lawyer Charged With Witness Tampering

Michael Policastro, a Milltown defense attorney, was arrested Friday and charged with witness tampering in three pending criminal cases.

MILLTOWN, NJ — A Milltown defense attorney has been arrested and charged with witness tampering in three separate pending criminal cases, the Middlesex County Prosecutor announced this past Friday, April 5.

Michael Policastro, 52, who lives in Monroe and whose law practice is located in Milltown, has been charged with four counts of witness tampering in the third degree.

Policastro was arrested and charged on Friday following an investigation by Detective Raul Guerra of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.

Prosecutors say that between February 2018 and November 2018, Policastro was in contact with witnesse, at the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center and at his office in Milltown, who were involved in official criminal proceedings. During these contacts, Policastro encouraged those witnesses to testify or inform falsely, or withhold testimony or information pertaining to three criminal cases that were pending in Middlesex County Superior Court at that time.
