Mom Found Dead Inside Condo, Son Charged With Murder In East Brunswick
Carmen Gordon, 68, of East Brunswick, was found unresponsive inside with fatal injuries after a 911 call requested a welfare check: Police.
EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — An East Brunswick son has been charged with the murder of his mother following a welfare check at her home, said Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Frank LoSacco of the East Brunswick Police Department on Friday.
On Thursday, Dec. 22 at around 11:09 a.m., a 911 call asked for a welfare check at the condo on Cozzens Court.
Authorities made multiple welfare checks to the condo, before finding Carmen Gordon, 68, of East Brunswick, unresponsive inside with fatal injuries, said authorities.

Gordon was pronounced dead at the scene.
An initial investigation led by Detective Robert Thuring of the East Brunswick Police Department and Detective Kevin Schroeck of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office identified Jason Gordon, 41, of New York, as the alleged attacker.

"This was not a random act of violence. Jason Gordon is the son of the victim, Carmen Gordon," said police.
On Friday, Dec. 23, Jason Gordon was charged with one count of first-degree murder, one count of third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and one count of fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.
This is an active and ongoing investigation.
